Yes. You will be required to wear the prescribed academic dress for the Degree or Diploma in which you are graduating. This includes a gown, a mortar board, hood and/or stole in the appropriate colour.
Double Degree students are allocated to one ceremony based on the University’s highest award rules. Your Ceremony Attendance Confirmation Letter in Access Adelaide will show you the ceremony you have been allocated to receive both of your degrees. You will only need to wear the hood for the highest award you are receiving, which will be indicated when you order.
If you have arranged to receive your Degrees in separate ceremonies with the University of Adelaide, then you will need to place two orders, one for each ceremony.
Please ensure you check the University's correspondence to confirm your allocation.
GFP Graduations provide an easy on-line solution to order and pay for your gown hire. Simply go to GFP Website and follow the prompts. Once you have completed your order you will receive an email confirmation. Please present this confirmation at the Gowning counter to collect your gown.

Pick up location and times for Adelaide Ceremonies:
Academic dress can be collected from the Union House, University of Adelaide campus.
11am ceremonies – pick up is from 8am – 9:45am the morning of your ceremony
2pm ceremonies - pick up is from 11am – 12:45pm the morning of your ceremony
Academic dress must be returned on ceremony day. Please unsure you have completed all photographic services prior to returning your gown. Failure to return your academic dress on graduation day may incur a late fee, unless otherwise arranged with staff. Please refer to the terms and conditions below.
Please return academic dress to the Union House by close of business (5pm) on graduation day.
We highly recommend you use our secure online ordering system to ensure availability. Your receipt will be emailed to you. Please print and present this receipt at the Gowning counter to collect your academic dress. Alternatively, you can contact GFP to make a booking to pay on the day using cash and/or debit transactions.
It is important to note the gown is open at the front; therefore what you are wearing underneath is visible. It is for this reason we recommend you wear business attire, and comfortable shoes. If the day is warm, you may want to remove your jacket as the gowns are quite heavy and it may be hot in the auditorium.

Return of Academic Dress - Academic Dress is to be returned within 2 hours of conclusion of your ceremony. Failure to return Academic Dress on time will incur a charge equivalent to the balance of the purchase price of the regalia. Purchase price is three times hire price.
Cancellation of Order - If you need to cancel your order please contact Customer Service to arrange your refund. Generally refunds are not applicable if your cancellation occurs within 3 days of your ceremony.
You can apply for extra tickets through Access Adelaide. You do not need to buy any tickets as all tickets are free. Check Access Adelaide and your emails regularly because if you miss the date to apply for extra tickets, you will not receive any more than the standard allocation of tickets.
Please note that due to space restrictions in Bonython Hall additional tickets are not guaranteed. Guests without tickets are welcome to view a live stream of the ceremony in Hub Central.

You will receive important information regarding your ceremony via your student email and Access Adelaide. Read your Ceremony Attendance Confirmation letter in Access Adelaide carefully and check your student email regularly.
Adelaide Ceremonies :
11am ceremonies - you are required to check in between 9:45am and 10:15am. Doors close at 10:30am after which you will miss your ceremony. All Graduates will attend a 10:15am pre-ceremony briefing
2pm ceremonies - you are required to check in between 12:45pm and 1:15pm. Doors close at 1:30pm after which you will miss your ceremony. All Graduates will attend a 1:15pm pre-ceremony briefing
All graduates who attend their ceremony must wear the appropriate academic attire: gown, with hood and mortar board or bonnet. It is important to note that the gown is open at the front, therefore what you are wearing underneath is visible. We recommend wearing business attire under your gown and comfortable shoes. The ceremony takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes however it will depend on the number of Graduates in attendance, among other factors.

Please note that parking on the University grounds is not permitted without a University of Adelaide parking permit. This includes the underground car park next to Bonython Hall.
Parking is available on Kintore Avenue, Victoria Drive and at a number of commercial car parks close to the campus.
The University of Adelaide holds graduation ceremonies in Adelaide in April/May and September, and in Singapore in March. The Adelaide Ceremony is at the Bonython Hall, North Terrace Campus, and the Singapore ceremonies are held in the Ngee Ann Polytechnic Convention Centre. Adelaide ceremonies :
Only guests with a valid guest ticket will be permitted to enter Bonython Hall. If you have additional guests who do not have a ticket, the graduation ceremony is also live streamed in the Mezzanine level of Hub Central. You may wish to invite any additional guests to watch the ceremony in Hub Central, and then meet up with you afterwards.
All graduation ceremonies are also live streamed online to the University website http://www.adelaide.edu.au/live/
The Eastern Entrance of Bonython Hall provides an accessible entrance for any guests who are in a wheelchair or have other accessibility requirements. This entrance will open to guests at the same time as the main entrance, and all guests will still be required to present a valid guest ticket for entry.
If one or more of your guests will be in a wheelchair, please indicate this in the special requirements section of your graduation application in Access Adelaide so that seating arrangements can be made by Graduations staff.
Please be aware that as space to accommodate guests in wheelchairs in Bonython Hall is limited, accompanying guests may be required to sit a row or two behind.
